St Gregory’s Catholic Primary remains ‘vigilant’ after schoolgirl grabbed by unknown man outside Margate school

A headteacher says a school remains “vigilant” after reports an unknown man grabbed a schoolgirl.
Police are investigating after the child was approached by a man near St Gregory's Catholic Primary School in Margate.
The incident happened in Nash Road at about 3.15pm on Friday as pupils were heading home.
A police spokesperson said: “We are making inquiries following a report received at 5.14pm yesterday a man approached a girl and tried to make contact with her at about 3.15pm on Friday.
“The incident was reported to have taken place in Nash Road, Margate.”
St Gregory’s head Dave Walker said: “As a school, our priority is always to ensure the safety of our children and we have very clear and effective safeguarding arrangements in place.
“We remain vigilant in all circumstances.”
