Second arrest following armed robbery at Coral bookmakers in Newington Road, Ramsgate

A second man has been arrested in connection with an alleged armed robbery.
Police were called just before 2pm on Wednesday to reports of a cash raid at a Coral bookmakers in Newington Road, Ramsgate.
A 29-year-old man, from Broadstairs, was arrested at 12.35pm today. He currently remains in custody.
Armed officers descended on the town three times following the incident.
Another 29-year-old man appeared via virtual link at Medway Magistrates’ Court court on Friday after being arrested in Margate on Wednesday.
Police were called to Coral bookmakers in Newington Road, Ramsgate, just before 2pm on Wednesday where it was reported cash had been stolen.
Officers then swooped on Marine Terrace in Margate where they arrested a man on the same day.
Luke Twyman, of Lancaster Close, Ramsgate, has been charged with robbery and possession of a firearm with intent to commit robbery.
As part of ongoing enquiries, officers including armed patrols, carried out a pre-planned warrant at a property in the Newington Road area of Ramsgate on Thursday. No arrests were made.
Allenby Road was shut on Friday to traffic and pedestrians while armed police made enquiries.
