Man taken to hospital after assault in Marine Gardens, Margate

A man has been taken to a local hospital after an assault close to Margate beach.
Police are now investigating the serious reported assault which is said to have happened at around 6.20pm on Saturday.
Officers were called to Marine Gardens near Albert Terrace to a report of a disturbance involving a group of people.
A man in his 50s was assaulted during the incident.
The suspects reportedly left the scene on foot towards the High Street area of town.
The victim sustained several injuries to his head and torso.
Det Insp Mat Scott said: "We would like to thank those witnesses who have already come forward.
"The assault took place near to the seafront and is a relatively busy area of town."
