18:45, 08 February 2018
A crash on the Thanet Way involving five vehicles occurred just moments after two other cars collided in a separate incident on the opposite carriageway, police have confirmed.
Officers were initially called to the A299 in Ramsgate after two cars heading towards Sandwich crashed close to the Sevenscore roundabout at around 6.30pm.
A short while after police arrived on the scene, a separate smash then occurred on the opposite carriageway, close to the location of the first incident.
It is believed the second crash involved as many as five vehicles. Officers and ambulance crews remain at the scene and there are no reported serious injuries.
