Shakespeare as you have never experienced it

The Theatre Royal Margate is preparing to offer its annual Shakespearian adrenaline rush to 50 local people.
From Friday, July 23, participants and director Will Wollen, right, will read, direct, rehearse and perform a Shakespeare play -- all in 24 hours.
Now in its third year, it is a fun-filled 24 hours with many friendships made among what is a diverse collection of Thanet’s curious and adventurous residents.
After getting to know each other and playing some warm-up games, the Shakespeare play is revealed and the fun begins. After rehearsing in smaller groups, the ensemble perform together to the public the following day.
Will said: “We work extremely hard over those 24 hours, but it is exhausting fun, and the theatre is filled with laughter. For those who have a real love of Shakespeare, this is a unique opportunity to get involved.”
A place will cost £10, and those under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult if staying overnight. To find out more, telephone 01843 282956.
