Tributes have been paid to a "loving, kind and funny" mum-of-three who tragically took her own life.

The daughter of Tara Wakefield, from Ramsgate, says she "passed away because couldn't battle her demons any more".

The 51-year-old leaves behind children Trudie, Tommy and Libby, and grandchildren, George and Tyson.

Now, her family have launched a fundraiser to help pay for her funeral, which is expected to cost almost £4,000.

The fundraising page says "life was cruel and unfair" to Tara, who battled with her mental health after the death of her father David in 2018.

She tragically took her own life on September 13, with the grandmother's body being found in Margate cemetery the following day.

Her children say that while they appreciate there is a cost of living crisis, they hope people will contribute as their mum "deserves the best send-off".

"Life was cruel and unfair to her and she battled with demons every day since the passing of her father David Wakefield in 2018," they write.

"Heartbreakingly, she could not fight them demons any more and decided enough was enough and that she needed to be at peace and with her loved ones in heaven.

"Tara was a loving, kind and funny woman and loved nothing more than her family and friends. And as such we want to give her the best send off she so rightfully deserves.

"We understand the struggle but we ask that you please donate to her funeral costs rather than flowers as she always knew what kind of funeral and wake she wanted."

Tara's funeral will be held at Margate Crematorium at 11.30am on Friday, October 14.
