Ramsgate stabbing victim named as Ashley Grainger as friends wish him well

Friends of a young man stabbed in the neck and shoulder are calling on more to be done to prevent further attacks.

Ashley Grainger was rushed to hospital after an incident in Ramsgate town centre at the weekend.

Pals have sent their support to Mr Grainger wishing him well for a speedy recovery after suffering serious injuries.

Mr Grainger, who is from the seaside town, was taken to hospital in London for treatment after the attack at 3am on Sunday morning.

Ross Griffin described the culprits as "scum of the earth" wishing his mate a "quick recovery".

He added: "Every few weeks I see this, how many more times is this going to happen until something’s done about it to make people stop."

Another friend, Henry Tucker, added: "Love you mate, you’ll get through this."

Three teenagers have been arrested as police launch an investigation.

The trio - all aged 18 and from Ramsgate - were arrested on suspicion of assault.

The area around Harbour Street was cordoned off on Sunday morning as officers carried out inquiries and reviewed CCTV at businesses.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after footage showed several people in the area at the time of the assault.
