URGENT: this event has been postponed until Saturday December 18, due to severe weather
Westgate is set to sparkle on Saturday December 4 when the Christmas lights are switched on -- with help from two very special guests.
Kate Anthony (Auntie Pam from Coronation Street) and Oliver Farnworth (formerly Will Hackett of Hollyoaks) will be joining in the festive fun at the switch on at 5pm.
There's also lots happening from 1pm, with Santa arriving by horse and carriage at 1.30pm, the St Saviour's Choir and Orchestra at 2pm, Star Stage school will be strutting their funky stuff at 3pm and the ever-popular EK1 are playing a set at 4pm.
As well as all of that, attractions include numerous side and craft stalls, a rodeo reindeer, an adult and some children's rides, a tasty hog roast, candy floss and hot chestnuts.
On street entertainment will be provided by the fantastic Kent Circus School who will be wowing the crowds with fire eating and stilt walking.
Philippa Myhill, of the Westgate Christmas lighting committee, said: "This popular day is expected to be as well attended as previous years, and we are looking forward to seeing everyone there."
