A cinema has issued a plea to movie-goers in an effort to stop them putting their smelly bare feet on seats.
Fed-up bosses at the Carlton Cinema in Westgate say film fans taking off their shoes and socks are being "inconsiderate" to both staff and fellow customers.
Since posting the appeal on Facebook, a host of customers have also shared their annoyance at those whipping out their feet.
The Carlton's plea to customers states: "People putting their feet up on our seats is an everyday thing.
"We understand that sitting in the same position for a long time can be uncomfortable for some. However, unfortunately now it isn't just dirty shoes. It is bare feet.
"Not only is this unhygienic but inconsiderate to our staff who have to clean said seats. Also, to other customers in the screen. Especially given the very hot weather we've been having of late.
"So please, when you are watching a film with us - try to be a little more aware of others around you.
"It will be very much appreciated.
"This has not come as a result of any complaints. This is purely from us, asking for a little thought and courtesy."
The independent Carlton, which is a Grade II-listed and three-screened venue in St Mildred's Road, dates back to 1910.
The reminder for people to keep their shoes and socks on has been met with agreement by customers on social media.
Jill Timmins wrote: "That's gross, what is wrong with people?"
Howie Watson said: "Another sign of standards slipping and selfish people who think they can do what they like. Disgraceful behaviour."
