A suspected drug dealer attempting to run away from police when he spotted officers has been arrested.
The man was taken into custody during a patrol in Margate yesterday.
Officers from the Thanet Community Policing Team and Kent Police's Divisional Support Unit saw the man acting suspiciously who started to run when police were in St John's Road.
Police say they were carrying out inquiries in the street when officers noticed his suspicious behaviour.
The man, aged 18 and from Harrow in London, was detained and searched with officers finding what is believed to be cocaine on his possession.
He was arrested on suspicion of possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply.
A 31-year-old woman from Ramsgate was also arrested in the street on suspicion of being concerned in supplying a controlled drug.
Both have been released while investigations continue.
