Teenage girl arrested after car crashes into Secret Spices restaurant in Margate

A teenage girl has been arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and possession of cocaine after a car crashed into a restaurant in Margate this morning.
Emergency services were called to the two-car collision outside the Secret Spices Indian restaurant in Ramsgate Road just after 5am.
Fire crews had to use hydraulic rescue equipment to cut a man and woman from one of the vehicles involved.
The man suffered concussion and possible internal and facial injuries while the woman also suffered facial injuries and multiple lower fractures to her leg and arm.
The blue Ford Galaxy people carrier they were travelling in had been hit by the other vehicle involved and pushed into the doorway of the restaurant, causing structural damage to building.
A 17-year-old girl was arrested and remains in custody.
Police spokesman Steve Knight said: "We were called at 5.08am to a report of a two-car collision in Ramsgate Road, Margate, in which damage was also caused to a restaurant. No life-threatening injuries were reported.
"A 17-year-old girl was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and possession of cocaine, and remains in custody."
Two fire engines attended the scene and left at 6.19am.
