Teenage girl taken to King’s College Hospital in London after being hit by car outside The Charles Dickens School in Broadstairs

A teenager has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car outside a school.
The incident happened near the entrance to The Charles Dickens School in Broadstairs shortly after 8am.
It involved a teenage girl and one vehicle.
Police and paramedics attended the scene at the entrance to the school.
They were then joined by crews from Air Ambulance Charity Kent, Surrey, Sussex.
The casualty was then taken to King’s College hospital in London by helicopter for further treatment after sustaining injuries.
The A255 Broadstairs Road closed in both directions between Green Lane and St James Avenue following the incident.
It has since reopened.
The Charles Dickens School has more than 1,000 pupils on its books aged between 11 and 16.
