Police arrest man after teenage girl sexually assaulted while at Viking Bay beach in Broadstairs

A man has been arrested after a teenage girl was sexually assaulted while paddling in the sea.
Police are appealing for witnesses following the incident at about 2.30pm on Saturday (August 10) in Broadstairs.
The victim is believed to have been approached by a man who touched her leg while she was in the sea at Viking Bay, near The Parade.
The girl then moved away before the incident was reported to lifeguards.
Police arrested a 33-year-old man from London shortly afterwards.
He has since been released on bail, with conditions, pending further inquiries.
