Ramsgate: Anthony John Atherton, Russell Jay Wilkinson and a 17-year-old boy in court after assault in St John's Avenue

Two men and a boy have appeared in court after being charged following a serious attack on a woman.

The victim was taken to hospital after the incident in St John's Avenue, Ramsgate, on Sunday. Her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Police arrested the trio on Monday and they were charged yesterday. They have since appeared at Folkestone Magistrates' Court.

Anthony John Atherton, 43-years-old, of Charnock Road, Clapton in London was charged with possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

Meanwhile a 17-year-old boy of no fixed address, and Russell Jay Wilkinson, 35-years-old of Harrington Hill in Clapton were charged with kidnap and attempt to cause grievous bodily harm with intent.

They were all remanded in custody until a later date.
