Three pupils at a school have tested positive for coronavirus, it has been confirmed.
A letter has been sent out to parents with children at the King Ethelbert School in Birchington on Friday informing them of the revelation.
Headteacher Vicky Willis wrote: "These three cases are directly linked and the families of the students concerned have contacted us immediately and worked closely with the school and with track and trace; all are self-isolating with immediate effect.
"We know that you may find this concerning but we have contacted Public Health England and we are following their advice carefully as well as continuing to monitor the situation closely.
"Given the timing of these infections and test results, PHE have advised that there is no reason for the school to ask any classes or year group bubbles to self-isolate.
"Please be reassured that for most people, coronavirus will be a mild illness."
It was revealed on Saturday how a school in Margate was forced to close after two cases of coronavirus .
Headteacher of St Anthony's School, Robert Page, said it will switch to remote learning until next Monday.
