Commuters leaving the coast are without transport this morning.
Southeastern tweeted to alert those heading to Cannon Street from Broadstairs that the train had to be cancelled due to an ongoing fault.
The train company has also been forced to reduce the number of coaches from 12 to six on the 7.16am service from Margate to St Pancras (8.06am from Ashford) owing to a combination of vandalism and a train fault.
The rail service operator blamed deliberate damage at Folkestone West which has been blighted in recent weeks by a spate of vandalism, including shopping trolleys being hurled onto the line.
A train fault has also contributed to the situation, it said.
