Treasure hunt and skating at Broadstairs' switch on
10:40, 09 December 2010
An ice skating rink and Santa’s grotto were among the highlights of this year’s Christmas lights switch-on in Broadstairs.
The family attractions in Pierremont Park were part of a weekend of festivities in the town, which also included treasure hunts around the area, children’s entertainers and the kmfm music stage, which was hosted by local breakfast show presenter Johnny Lewis (see left).
A colourful Christmas parade featuring a host of local groups and organisations brought the town’s two-day extravaganza to a close, winding its way up High Street to Pierremont Park on Sunday afternoon.
The event was supported by Broadstairs and St Peter’s Town Council, Broadstairs and St Peter’s Chamber of Commerce and Thanet District Council.
