Two people were treated for smoke inhalation after they were rescued from a burning building in Ramsgate yesterday evening (Monday).

Firefighters from the town were called to the three-storey property in Augusta Road at 5.45pm.

They used an aerial ladder to rescue the trapped duo from a top floor flat. Although not badly injured, the pair were attended to by paramedics at the scene.

A spokesperson for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said the blaze was extinguished within 30 minutes.
