Two women charged after medication stolen from homes during distraction burglaries in east Kent

Two women have been charged after medication was swiped from homes in a number of distraction burglaries.
An investigation was launched into reports the items were stolen across east Kent between May 31, 2020, and August 3 this year.
The Crown Prosecution Service authorised a charge of conspiracy to commit burglary with intent to steal against 32-year-old Ruth Lambert and 29-year-old Jessica Silvester, both of Gap Road, Margate.
Both women have also been charged with conspiring to steal medication and other items from people between May 31, 2018, and August 5 this year.
The two suspects appeared at Canterbury Magistrates’ Court on Friday and were remanded in custody. They will appear at Canterbury Crown Court on September 6.
