Huge emergency response after ‘empty van’ struck man in Ramsgate town centre

There is a large emergency response in a town centre following reports an “empty van” struck a man.
The collision happened in Hardres Street, Ramsgate at about 2.15pm today.
Police and ambulance crews are at the scene.
The van is said to have been “empty” at the time of the accident, according to eyewitness accounts who say it rolled into the pedestrian.
The vehicle is understood to have also hit a signpost in the crash.
A police spokesman said: “We received a report of a collision involving a pedestrian and a van at 2.15pm today.
“Officers attended the scene to assist in Hardres Street, Ramsgate.”
An ambulance spokeswoman added: “We were called at approximately 2:10pm today to reports of a RTC involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in Hardres Street, Ramsgate.
“Crews assessed and treated one person at the scene before taking them to William Harvey Hospital for further medical treatment.”
