Viva La Drag! is the latest hit show coming straight from the West End to Margate and features some of show business's top names.
It is directed by Kylie Minogue’s creative director, features songs especially composed by Boy George and stars Sam Buttery from television’s The Voice and is on stage at the Winter Gardens on November 21.
Described by producer Michael Taylor as “the ultimate girls’ night out – with added extras” the lavish production promises a rollicking night of cross-dressing comedy and musical theatre.
He added: “It’s an outrageous party night out to die for, packing in more hit songs than any other production.”
Classic hits are combined with today’s chart toppers: Single Ladies, Stop in the Name of Love, Car Wash, Get Lucky, Rolling in the Deep, Jolene, Crazy in Love, Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy and scores more feature.
The plot of Viva la Drag! charts the rise from rags to the queens of drag of a close harmony group with a difference.
The ‘girl’ group’s razor-tongued manager, played by Sheila Simmonds, navigates band splits and solo hits, against a backdrop of backstabbing, love and tears played for laughs by four of the UK’s top drag artistes - Vicki Vivacious, Vanilla Lush, Portia De Fosse and Silver Summers.
Theatregoers are advised that the show's content is suitable for over-16s. For more details, see next week's Thanet Extra.
