Smokers are being urged to make sure they stub out their cigarettes after discarded ash sparked a fire.
Firefighters were called to Newcastle Hill, Ramsgate, to a blaze which is thought to have been started by smoking materials in a wheelie bin near the rubbish chute of a property.
All floors of the building, which has several people living there, were smoke logged.
The fire started just after 7pm last night and was out within 20 minutes.
