There was speculation this morning the Prime Minister Theresa May was on her way to Westwood Cross as the campaign for June's snap general election gets under way.
A convoy of four black limousines and a silver 4x4 with police motorcycle outriders was spotted heading up Haine Road towards the Broadstairs shopping centre at 10.30am.
Thanet residents took to social media in an attempt to find out who the mystery VIP could be.
But a police spokesman later confirmed that the vehicles were one of Kent Police force's regular training exercises.
Mrs May last visited Broadstairs just hours after hearing she had become the favourite in the race for leadership of the Conservative Party in July last year.
