Wickes has reopened four of its Kent stores as it starts a phased reopening.
The branches in Ashford, Broadstairs, Sittingbourne and Tunbridge Wells join the Sevenoaks store - which reopened on a trial basis.
Strict safety measures - such as social distancing- will be enforced amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The DIY firm was only serving customers online through home deliveries and click-and-collect.
Today it welcomed back customers to about half of its shops across the country and the remaining branches will open their doors on Tuesday next week.
It is limiting the number of people in its stores at any one time - so customers could be made to queue outside.
There are signs and floor markers to ensure people keep two metres apart.
Perspex screens have been installed at the tills and sanitising stations are available for customer use.
The shops are only accepting card and contactless payments.
