Officers were also told the driver was heavily intoxicated.

Huckle, 39, of no fixed address, was taken into custody and the following day charged with one count of drink-driving.

Police allege she was four times the legal alcohol limit.

She was released on bail to attend Margate Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, July 19.

PC Dave Sansum, a drink and drug liaison officer, said: "As people go out to enjoy the summer months, we remind motorists that consuming alcohol or drugs and then driving puts your life and the lives of others at risk.

"Officers across the county are equipped to test drivers for cannabis, cocaine and alcohol, and specially trained officers can also test for any impairment through drink and other intoxicants.

"We urge people to play their part in keeping the roads safe for all."
