Woman dies following cliff fall at Palm Bay, Margate

A woman has died after they fell from a cliff.

A host of emergency service vehicles were summoned to Palm Bay in Margate at about 6.30pm yesterday following reports that someone had fallen off a cliff.

Two police cars and a van, a fire engine and car, two ambulances and a critical care car were present at the scene, which had been cordoned off.

A spokeswoman for the South East Coast Ambulance service said: "Unfortunately despite the best efforts of the emergency teams, the person was pronounced dead at the scene."

A Kent Police spokeswoman said: "Officers were called just after 6.30pm on June 29, 2019 to Marine Drive, Margate, to reports that a woman had fallen off a cliff.

"Officers attended to assist the South East Coast Ambulance Service where it was confirmed she had died.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious."
