A man was taken to hospital with a stab wound to his face after a disturbance in Margate High Street today at 2.40pm.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "A woman has been arrested on suspicion of assault and officers are currently at the scene and making further arrests."

A worker in one nearby shop said he had spotted a man with a lot of blood on his face.

Another shop owner said three police cars and an ambulance had attended.
