A woman swam 1.5 miles to shore after falling off a boat out at sea.
RNLI crews were alerted to a person overboard in the water off Broadstairs yesterday morning.
The woman had somehow fallen off a small cabin cruiser which was at anchor in calm waters.
Lifeboat crews were sent out just before 6.20am to rescue to missing person, but a call soon came in confirming the woman had found her way to shore.
She managed to get to safety, wake a friend and talk to the Coastguard, informing them she was unharmed.
She also alerted the Coastguard to another person aboard the anchored boat who required assistance.
A lifeboat therefore made its way to the vessel, transferred the casualty onboard and escorted them to Ramsgate harbour.
