Police are hunting a group of teens who hurled a brick at a moving Stagecoach bus, smashing the window.

The youngsters caused the damage at about 4pm yesterday as the vehicle was travelling down Margate Road in Ramsgate.

No passengers were injured and officers are investigating the “extremely dangerous” incident.

A police spokesman said: “We are investigating a report of criminal damage caused to a bus at about 4pm on Tuesday May 9.

“It was reported that a brick had been thrown by a group of teenagers at the bus window while it was travelling in Margate Road, Ramsgate.

“The window was damaged, no injuries were reported.”

Bossed from Stagecoach stated: “A Loop bus travelling along Margate Road was struck by a rock or brick thrown at the bus.

“Targeting a moving vehicle in this way is incredibly dangerous, not only for the safety of people on the bus, but for other road users as well.

“Thankfully no one was hurt, but a window was smashed.

“We're working closely with the police, including providing on-bus CCTV footage.

“We ask anyone who saw a group of young people in the Margate Road area of Ramsgate at around 4pm on Tuesday to contact the Police with information."

The spokesman added, "There have been similar incidents in the area where buses have been targeted in recent months.

“Attacks on a public service are unacceptable and we will work with the police to pursue those responsible."
