Former Gillingham midfielder Charlie Allen scored an injury-time equaliser for Ryman League Premier Division leaders Margate on Saturday.
It was Allen's seventh goal in as many games as they maintained their unbeaten record against Leiston at Hartsdown Park.
The visitors led after 78 minutes when Cliff Akurang's deflected effort put them ahead.
Ryan Moss and Zac Attwood both went close for the hosts early on before Kane Wills was denied by keeper Danny Gay.
At the other end, Craig Parker's header was cleared off the line before Attwood was denied by Gay as Margate responded.
After the break, Parker shot at keeper Nikki Bull but the visitors did take the lead when Akurang's shot looped over stranded keeper Bull.
Margate had late claims for a penalty denied and Charlie Wassmer headed against the bar before Allen scored from close range after Gay had kept out Jason Prior's effort.
Margate: Bull, Riviere, Bennett, Allen, Wassmer, Johnson, Phipp (Moore 64mins), Wills, Moss, Attwood (Prior 81mins), Taylor. Subs not used: Beadle, Stuart, Beales.
Attendance: 717.
