Two struggling rivals go head-to-head on Tuesday night when Ramsgate visit Ashford.

Lloyd Blackman's Rams have lost all three of their home league games so far while the managerless Nuts & Bolts have yet to win since their promotion to Bostik South.

Ramsgate make the short trip two points and three places above Ashford and the significance of the game is not lost on their manager.

"There’s no question we’ve had a very tough start," Blackman said. "I know Ashford have had a tough start themselves as well and with Danny Lye leaving, it’s a club in a bit of change.

"Our away performances seem to be a lot stronger so we’re going to take that on, especially after our disappointing performance on Saturday, and make sure we’re in the right frame of mind to put right our wrongs.

"We’ve got to find a level of consistency and that’s very difficult at this level with young players. We’re well aware of that but as a group, we have to learn fast and make sure we approach each game with the same mentality, home or away, because on our day we’re a side to be reckoned with as we’ve proven in a couple of games already.

"It’s about finding how to win games when things aren’t going our way and that’s something this young side will have to figure."

Ollie Gray picked up a knock in the 3-1 home defeat to South Park on Saturday but is expected to be available for the game at Homelands.
