Margate will be out to beat fierce rivals Ramsgate to make the Kent Senior Cup Final tonight - although manager Reece Prestedge isn’t sure who will be available by then!

Isthmian Premier Gate host Jamie Coyle’s promotion-chasing Isthmian South East side Ramsgate at Hartsdown Park (7.45pm kick-off) in their last-four encounter.

“It’s important,” said Prestedge, whose team are on a three-match losing run.

“We will be professional, going into it. We’ve got to stop the rot.

“Even though there’s only two games left, it would be nice to finish with two wins. Games against Ramsgate are massive and you always want to get in a Final.

“It’s something to fight for.”

The victors will meet either Isthmian South East champions Chatham or Welling in the Final at Gillingham’s Priestfield Stadium.

That could act as extra motivation for players to reach the Final. But with the encounter being played on Wednesday, May 3 - more than a week after Margate end their season at home to Potters Bar in the league this Saturday - Prestedge expects some of his troops to be unavailable.

He said: “It’s a bit of a shame it’s two weeks after the season so a lot of boys will be away anyway.

“But if we can get some silverware, I think we will look at it and think we’ve done all right this season.”

Margate have beaten Faversham, Sheppey and Cray Valley to reach this stage while the Rams have got the better of Beckenham, Herne Bay and Tonbridge.
