Ramsgate boss Jim Ward says Hythe win was best display since he and brother Danny returned to the club

Joe Taylor can’t stop scoring – and that’s great news for Ramsgate.
Taylor scored twice in the 3-0 win over Hythe at Southwood on Monday, following up his double in the 3-2 win at Molesey on Saturday – netting from the spot in both games – as
Rams moved sixth in Ryman League, Division South, one of five clubs on nine points.
Boss Jim Ward said: “It’s not only Joe’s goals that are impressing me, it’s his work rate and application.
“He was up against two experienced centre halves in Craig Cloke and Nick Reeves on Monday and ran them ragged.”
“It was the best performance since Danny and I came back to the club, we never allowed Hythe to have a moment’s peace.
“We had a young side which was also encouraging and played some smashing stuff, five or six wouldn’t have been an injustice.
“Not one of my players lost their individual battle and it was a sound display.”
Alfie Paxman has become the latest player to be placed on contract at the club, while brother Jack has joined Deal Town on dual-registration on terms, and made his debut in the 2-2 draw at Rochester United on Monday.
.
Ramsgate meet Whyteleafe in the FA Cup First Qualifying Round on Saturday (3pm) and Ward said: “ The wins at the weekend sets us up nicely for what is a big game for the
club.
“If no replay is required, Rams will be at home to Cray Wanderers next Tuesday (7.45pm)
