Police appeal for witnesses after crash closed Tonbridge bypass near A21

Police want to hear from anyone who saw a crash which left a Jaguar XF driver with serious injuries.

They are appealing for witnesses after the driver left the A21 and crashed into a fence yesterday.

The white car was involved in the accident between the Longfield Road roundabout and the turning for Tonbridge.

Police, firefighters and ambulance staff rushed to the scene where fire crews cut a man free from the car.

The man's injuries were described as serious and he was taken to a London hospital for further medical attention.

The Tonbridge bypass was closed for nearly seven hours and was reopened shortly after 3pm.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit want to hear from any witnesses, especially motorists who were travelling on the southbound carriageway who may have seen the vehicle immediately before or during the collision.

Drivers who have dashcam footage are also encouraged to get in contact.
