POLICE have appealed for witnesses after an attack on a young woman in Darenth Avenue at Tonbridge.

The woman was approached by a man just before midnight on Tuesday and asked the time. He then grabbed her handbag and ran off in the direction of Derwent Road where he got into the passenger seat of a red Rover Metro car.

The attacker is described as 5ft 10ins tall, wearing dark clothing and a baseball cap.
