Adrian Townsend, the author of “Gran’s Gang,” was the guest speaker at Cage Green Primary School in Cage Green Road, Tonbridge, as part of book week.
Mr Townsend, who worked for 24 years as a primary school head teacher in Oxford before having a change of career change and becoming an author and playwright, talked to the children about his career and how to succeed as a writer.
He said he usually begins writing by asking the question: “What if ...?”
He also told them every day should be a “Book Day” and encouraged them to read and write every day.
