Car crashes into couple's sitting room
00:00, 14 March 2003
A RED Ford Fiesta ploughed into the sitting room of a house in Hadlow Road, Tonbridge, early today.
The occupants of the house, Mr and Mrs Burden, were upstairs at the time of the accident getting ready to go to work.
Mr Burden said: "It was around 6.45am and I was getting dressed upstairs. I remember hearing a roadsweeper go past, then there was a huge bang. I went downstairs and there was a car embedded in the wall of our sitting room, knocking right through our side door."
The car driver, from Tonbridge, was unhurt. Traffic along Hadlow Road was disrupted for a short time while police cordoned off the area.
