Police have issued CCTV images of a man after cash was stolen from a till in Tonbridge.
The money was reported to have been pinched from a gift shop in Botany last Tuesday after a man entered the store at around 2.25pm, claiming his mother had left a bag there which contained a heart monitor.
He was using a mobile phone, giving the impression he was speaking to his mother and insisted the bag had been stored upstairs for him to collect.
A member of staff went to look for the bag and when she returned the man made an excuse about checking his parking ticket and left the shop.
It was later discovered £100 was missing from the till.
Officers investigating the theft believe the man pictured may have information that could help the investigation.
Anyone who recognises him is urged to call the west Kent appeal lines on 01622 604100, quoting reference YY/010014/18, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
