In 2011 and 2012 90 groups benefited from £240,000 of grants but the Council still has £261,000 to finance a third and final round of funding.

The scheme was set up by the Council in 2011 using Government allocated money.

"I’m really pleased that we can continue to support local services and facilities and I look forward to seeing the latest applications for funding” - Cllr Nicolas Heslop

Organisations can apply for a grant of up to £2,500 and priority will be given to projects that wouldn't be possible without support from the fund and add real value to the community.

Cllr Nicolas Heslop, leader of Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council, said: “We were able to support some great projects through the first two rounds of funding including new equipment for local sports clubs and community groups, emergency kit bags and defibrillators for Community First Responders and a disabled access ramp for Shipbourne Farmers Market.

"I’m really pleased that we can continue to support local services and facilities and I look forward to seeing the latest applications for funding.”

All applications for funding must be submitted by Monday September 8.
