Crash on A21 Tonbridge bypass near A2014 Pembury Road

A bypass was shut for nearly five hours after a pedestrian was hit by a car.
Police were called to the A21 southbound exit slip near Pembury around 4pm.
Paramedics and the air ambulance treated the male pedestrian at the scene for serious injuries.
The A21 was closed coastbound to allow the air ambulance to land, and remained shut while officers investigate the circumstances around the collision.
The man has been taken to a London hospital by air for further medical attention.
Highways England confirmed the road reopened just before 9pm.
