A main road was closed after a car overturned, causing long delays.

Police completely shut the A21 Sevenoaks by-pass to allow emergency services to attend the scene.

The accident happened in the north-bound carriageway, shortly after the turn off for Sevenoaks and Hildenborough, at 9.30am.

Police have since cleared the road and all lanes were reopened by 10.15am, but delays remained for a while after.

An ambulance and paramedic car were sent but no serious injuries were reported.
