House of Commons pastry chef Sara Bjork to run dessert pop-up at Old Fire Station, Tonbridge
10:30, 02 September 2016
She makes macaroons for May, cakes for Corbyn, and pastries for Pickles, but now a House of Commons pastry chef is stepping into the fire.
The Old Fire Station in Tonbridge will welcome Sara Bjork on Friday, September 16 and Saturday, September 17.
Locals are hoping the 32-year-old doesn't burn the cakes when she visits the Castle Street venue, which has hosted a series of pop-ups this year.
Having previously hosted Masterchef winners and mixology masters, this event promises to be another big hit.
Originally from Sodertalje in Sweden, Miss Bjork has lived in England for 13 years, and her boyfriend in fact hails from Tonbridge.
"His parents brought the Old Fire Station to my attention earlier this year, and I was immediately interested in doing a pop up there.
"It is a beautiful venue and very well set up for these types of events," she said.
Guests will be treated to a four course tasting menu, combining Swedish flavours with British favourites.
Tickets for 'A Taste of Sweden in the Garden of England' are still available for purchase here.
