A drug dealer who was caught with more than 40 wraps of cocaine has been sentenced to prison.
Mirjan Petku, 22, was arrested in Turner Road, Tonbridge, on Friday, September 6 for possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply.
Police in an unmarked vehicle saw another car stop next to a person on the pavement and suspected a drug deal was about to happen.
Before Petku, of no fixed address, could speak to the pedestrian, they approached and searched him.
The officers seized three wraps of cocaine, along with £395 and a mobile phone containing messages arranging drug deals.
The last message directed him to a postcode on Turner Road.
When police checked the car they found a further 38 wraps of cocaine concealed in a pair of socks.
Petku pleaded guilty at Maidstone Crown Court and was given a prison sentence of two years and six months.
The District Commander for Tonbridge, Ch Insp Peter Steenhuis said: "Another drug dealer has been jailed due to the proactive efforts of local patrols.
"My officers will continue to stop and search those they suspect to be supplying drugs in our towns and, where cocaine is seized, offenders can expect to be swiftly brought before the courts.
"Investigators will also seek to confiscate any cash or property in their possession believed to be the proceeds of crime."
