Third time's a charm as pranksters add another face to an election candidate's campaign poster.

For the third day in a row one of Tory Tom Tugendhat's banners in Leybourne has been tampered with - this time with Sir Elton John's head sitting atop his shoulders.

The billboard, at the junction for Castle Way and Oxley Shaw Lane, has featured other famous faces such as Buzz Lightyear and Bruce Forsyth this week.

The tradition began during the last election campaign in 2017, where Mr Tugendhat, candidate for Tonbridge and Malling, was replaced by Brian Blessed, Chris Kamara, Borat and TV character Mrs Brown.

Speaking about their antics at the time, a spokesperson for the trio of pranksters responsible said: "We hope everyone has taken the prank for what it was, light-hearted fun.

"Rest assured that no criminal damage was actually caused, and all precautions were taken to avoid any potentially controversial characters."

It has not been confirmed whether this year's pranks are being carried out by the same group.
