A former Tonbridge teacher has admitted abusing a position of trust and taking indecent photographs of a teenage girl.
Stephen Burrows was employed at Tonbridge Grammar School when the offences took place.
The 65-year-old of Greggs Wood Road in Tunbridge Wells was suspended after the allegations were made. His contract was terminated at the Deakin Leas school.
He has since pleaded guilty to the two charges, and is due to appear at Maidstone Crown Court for sentencing before the end of the month.
Tonbridge Grammar School head teacher Rosemary Joyce said no concerns about Mr Burrows had been raised in the past.
She said: “Due to the serious nature of this allegation, the school acted promptly to suspend Mr Burrows. The suspension remained in place continuously until Mr Burrows’ contract of employment was terminated.
“He had been subject to an enhanced CRB check and full recruitment checks.”
