Fallen trees in Maidstone and Matfield

Fallen trees have been causing traffic problems as strong winds batter the county.

Police were called to two incidents near Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells where roads have been blocked this morning.

Crittenden Lane in Matfield is currently closed in both directions after a tree fell across the road shortly after 10am.

Officers are at the scene between Maidstone Road and Chestnut Lane.

Drivers travelling between Colts Hill and Matfield can expect delays while the road is being cleared.

Elsewhere, traffic on Sutton Road, Maidstone has returned to normal after the road was cleared of a tree which was reported to have fallen at around 8.00am causing delays for commuters.
