Emergency services and traffic officers are at the scene, with reports of the air ambulance landing earlier.

The closure is from the A225 (Hildenborough / Sevenoaks Turn Off) to the A26 Woodgate Way (Tonbridge / Vauxhall Roundabout, Tonbridge).

Drivers travelling south-bound should follow the hollow circle. At Morleys roundabout take the second exit onto the B245 London Road.

At the A227 T-Junction the diversion route is compromised by roadworks. Traffic will need to pick up the local council diversion by turning left and then right at the next roundabout onto Yardley Park road. At the T-junction turn right onto the A26 until you pick up the hollow circle signed diversion and rejoin the A21 at Vauxhall Lane.

Northbound is the same in reverse. Long delays are expected for some time.

It is expected to remain shut during the morning rush hour.

Update: A woman has died and a man has been arrested following the incident.
