A golf club has completed its refurbishment ahead of schedule.
Nizels Golf and Country Club, which is between Tonbridge and Sevenoaks, has spent £30,000 upgrading its gym with new equipment and is giving its course a £300,000 facelift.
It concludes a programme of club improvements designed to improve playing conditions and extend the use of the course which overlooks the Kentish Weald countryside.
The club will continue their work with international golf course architect Jonathan Gaunt this summer to lay out plans for significant drainage and bunker works.
This includes the addition of substantial main drainage and extensive gravel banding.
The bunker work includes re-shaping and infilling existing bunkers as well as the construction of new bunkers which will improve the look and playability of the course.
Work began in 2019 with nine holes being completed and the remaining nine holes are taking place later this year.
Golf operations manager David Hobbs "Our members have been amazingly supportive throughout the works previously and we are very excited to announce another significant investment to complete the remaining nine holes.
"We were amazed with what impact the previous works had on the course and now it is time to finish the work.
"We feel these changes make our course one of the best in the South East."
Club director Nicky Linton-Briggs added: "The design and repositioning of the new bunkers will turn Nizels into a new golf course.
"The drainage will certainly extend the courses playability over the winter.
"Nizels has also made some changes to the gym lately and have installed £30k of new Technogym equipment to keep up with modern fitness trends and its promise to continually invest in its facilities for all members.
"To be able to invest again and see the club come fully back to life after the challenging past few Covid years is incredibly exciting."
