A 12-year-old boy was taken to hospital with head injuries after running into a wall during a PE lesson at a Tonbridge school.

Ambulance crews were called to The Judd School after the year 8 pupil reportedly ran into a wall following a 100 metre sprint on Friday.

It comes less than a week after the boy's grammar was fined £10,000 following an incident in June where a 14-year-old almost died when he was hit in the back of a head with a shotput during a games lesson.

The governing board admitted failing to ensure his safety at a hearing at Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court last Tuesday.

Headmaster Robert Masters confirmed that an ambulance attended the Brook Street site at around 1pm, with the pupil treated at the scene before being taken to hospital for further assessment.
