Borough Green: Southeastern warns of delays after lorry strikes bridge
10:00, 04 August 2015
A lorry has struck a railway bridge in Borough Green.
Southeastern has warned of disruption on the Maidstone East line as a result.
Trains running through Borough Green, Wrotham and West Malling may be delayed or diverted via Sevenoaks.
The line has been reopened but disruption is expected until 12pm.
A Southeastern spokesman said: “We had to suspend trains while checks were carried out to a railway bridge at Borough Green after a member of the public informed Network Rail that a lorry had accidently struck the bridge before driving off.
"The bridge has been checked by Network Rail and services have now been restarted after being suspended for around 30 minutes. We would ask passengers to please bear with us as it will take a little time for services to fully recover.”
